In 1951 Ferrari designed and built 28 of these stunning motorcars


Dubbed the “Ferrari 212 Export Touring Barchetta” the car was used almost exclusively for auto racing, a field in which it saw significant successes throughout the 1950′s.

The 340/375 MM Berlinetta "Competizione" was driven by three world champions.

This 1953 Ferrari 340/375 MM Pinin Farina Berlinetta "Competizione" sold for 9,856,000 euros or $12,812,800, including buyer's premium, in an auction hosted by RM Auctions at Lake Como, Italy, on May 25, 2013. It has been driven by three world champions (Mike Hawthorn, Alberto Ascari and Giuseppe "Nino" Farina) and was one of three 375 MM cars at the 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans race.(Tim Scott Fluid Images © 2013 Courtesy of RM Auctions)
